My Academic Journey at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST)

Hello everyone,

I am thrilled to share my academic journey at Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST), a place that has been instrumental in shaping my career and personal growth. Reflecting on my time at AUST, I am filled with gratitude and pride for the challenges overcome, the knowledge gained, and the memories created.

The Toughest Decision

The journey to AUST began with one of the toughest decisions my mother and I ever had to make. Against all odds and societal expectations, my mother, Lipe Dev, made the courageous decision to admit me to AUST. Located at 141-142 Love Road, Tejgaon Industrial Area, Dhaka-1215, AUST became my second home where I pursued my dream of becoming a civil engineer.

Choosing AUST: A Leap of Faith

Choosing AUST was not just about selecting a university; it was about choosing a future filled with possibilities. My mother’s unwavering belief in my potential and her determination to see me succeed in a challenging environment fueled my own resolve. Together, we took a leap of faith, knowing that AUST’s reputation for excellence in engineering education would provide the foundation I needed to thrive.

Academic Life at AUST

Studying Civil Engineering at AUST was both demanding and rewarding. The rigorous curriculum, combined with practical experiences, ensured that we were well-prepared for the complexities of the engineering world.

Coursework and Projects

The coursework at AUST was comprehensive, covering a wide range of topics essential for a career in civil engineering. From structural analysis to environmental engineering, each subject contributed to building a solid foundation of knowledge. One of the highlights of my academic life was working on various projects that allowed us to apply theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. These projects were not only challenging but also incredibly fulfilling, as they provided a glimpse into the impact our work could have on society.

Faculty and Mentorship

The faculty at AUST played a pivotal role in my academic journey. Their expertise, dedication, and willingness to mentor us were invaluable. The guidance I received from my professors helped me navigate through difficult subjects and inspired me to push beyond my limits. Their encouragement and constructive feedback were instrumental in my academic success.

Extracurricular Activities

AUST also offered a vibrant campus life with numerous extracurricular activities. Participating in clubs, workshops, and seminars enriched my university experience and allowed me to develop skills beyond the classroom. These activities fostered teamwork, leadership, and a sense of community among students.

Achievements and Graduation

After years of hard work and dedication, I proudly completed my Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering in 2023 with a CGPA of 3.356 out of 4. This achievement is a testament to the support of my family, especially my mother, and the excellent education provided by AUST. Graduating from AUST not only marked the end of an academic journey but also the beginning of a new chapter in my professional life.

Looking Ahead

My time at AUST has laid a strong foundation for my career as an engineer. The knowledge, skills, and experiences gained during my university years have equipped me to tackle the challenges of the engineering field with confidence. As I move forward, I am excited to apply what I have learned to contribute to the development of infrastructure and society.

Gratitude and Reflection

As I reflect on my journey, I am deeply grateful to my mother for her unwavering support and to AUST for providing an environment that nurtured my growth. The decision to attend AUST was a turning point in my life, and I am proud of what I have achieved.

Thank you for taking the time to read about my academic journey. I hope my story inspires others to pursue their dreams with determination and resilience.

Best regards,
Engineer Aditya Dev
