Attending the Seminar: “Strong Foundations, Strong Connections”

On Saturday, 25th October 2025, I had the privilege to attend the seminar titled Strong Foundations, Strong Connections, organized by Freehold Construction & Development at the Old IEB Bhaban, 1st Floor, Seminar Room, Ramna, Dhaka.
The seminar centered around the theme “Building for the Future: Role of Pile Base Grouting & Couplers in Safer, Stronger Structures.” It brought together engineers, researchers, and professionals eager to explore innovative approaches in foundation and structural design.
The event was honored by the presence of:

  • Chief Guest: Professor Dr. Ahsanul Kabir, Former Professor of Civil Engineering, BUET
  • Keynote Speaker: Professor Dr. Jahangir Alam, Professor of Civil Engineering, BUET
During the discussion, the experts elaborated on Freehold Construction & Development’s innovative pile base grouting mechanism, which offers several significant advantages in modern foundation engineering:
  • Increases the bearing capacity of piles by enhancing end resistance.
  • Reduces the total number of piles required for a given load.
  • Improves pile efficiency, leading to stronger and safer foundation performance.
  • Decreases foundation costs by approximately 20–40%, making it both economically and structurally efficient.
Along with technical insights, the seminar also emphasized the importance of couplers in achieving reliable reinforcement connections, improving construction quality, and reducing material wastage.
It was an excellent learning experience where I deepened my understanding of advanced construction technologies and interacted with leading professionals in the field. Each participant received a CPD Certificate along with some appreciation gifts, marking the session as both informative and memorable.

I sincerely thank Freehold Construction & Development for arranging this valuable seminar and for their continuous efforts in promoting innovation and professional growth within Bangladesh’s construction industry.
